Theatre is an expensive art form to create. Did you know it costs anything from $150,000 to $380,000 to produce a play? That lights can cost up to $20,000 each? That it costs between $4,000 and $12,000 to build a set?
Government funding accounts for less than 50% of the Company’s income. The Tasmanian Theatre Company generates the remainder through box office, hire fees, business partnerships and donations.
We need your help to secure the future of professional theatre in Tasmania. You can show your support by making a tax deductible donation.
As a not-for-profit organisation, individual donations of any level are greatly appreciated by the Company and your generous support helps us to fulfill our artistic goals. Even the smallest amount can make a very real difference. Donations of $2 or more are fully tax- deductible and you can donate by cheque, credit card, on-line or with cash.
Donations of $250 or more will be publicly recognised in the foyer of the Theatre Royal Backspace, in our printed publications and on our website. There are various entry levels giving you the choice of donation and associated tax benefit:

• Saint $2,500 or more
• Angel between $1500 and $2499
• Guardian between $1000 and $1499
• Champion between $500 and $999
• Star between $250 and $499

Your donation will make a critical difference to the Company, directly supporting the Artistic Program, creating new works and generating opportunities for Tasmanian artists.
