Mark Fitzpatrick
For the last 8 years, Mark has worked with a broad range of Tasmania’s professional and community theatre organisations, using his developing skills and networks to empower and support those involved in creative pursuits.
Mark helped to manage Tasmania’s largest amateur theatre group, the Old Nick Company inc, for 3 years as Company Secretary, Public Officer and active management committee member. Mark is also an active member of the voluntary board that manages the Backspace Theatre and has contributed to various steering boards and panels including two years as Tasmanian’s Young People and the Arts state representative
A volunteer at heart, Mark has production managed, stage managed, marketed, publicised and performed for theHobart Repertory Society, ExitLeft Productions, the Old Nick Company Inc, Pierrot Productions Australia Pty, theRound Earth Theatre Co and many others.
In 2007, Mark acted as Marketing Manager for ExitLeft Productions’ box-office record-breaking presentation of CATS. Mark was thrilled to drive one of the largest marketing campaigns in Tasmanian theatrical history and to have attracted over 19,400 to this production.
As General Manager of the TTC, Mark works to strengthen the relationships between this professional company and the surprisingly large network of people engaged in Tasmanian amateur theatre.
Mark Fitzpatrick is a graduate of the University of Tasmania, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English and Political Science.
In 2008, Mark was awarded a Margaret Lawrence Bequest Scholarship to study at the Melbourne Business School and was named a Tasmanian Young Achiever of the Year Award finalist in the TAFE Tasmania Career Development Category.
