The Theatre Royal Backspace can seat up to 160 people and is licensed for up to 200 patrons.

The Theatre Royal Backspace is located behind the Theatre Royal, 29 Campbell Street.
Access is via the ‘stage door’ in Sackville Street (the laneway that runs between the Theatre Royal complex and the neighbouring Theatre Royal Hotel.)
Parking in this area is very limited, so allow extra time when traveling to the theatre by car.
You may wish to consider using the nearby Market Place Car Park – it’s the closest and cheapest parking option near the theatre.
AT THE THEATREThe Venue Box Office and The Backspace Bar is open 45 mins before each performance and the bar is also open during interval.
Seating at the Theatre Royal Backspace is general admission which means you and your friends can sit wherever you choose at the performance subject to availability. Arrive early for the best choice of seats.
Latecomers will be admitted to the performance at the first appropriate opportunity to avoid disruption to already seated patrons.
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Neat and casual is just fine, but so is dressing up if the mood takes you!
