ABOUT THE BACKSPACE THEATRE

The Theatre Royal Backspace is Hobart’s most intimate performance venue, hosting outstanding live performance across a diverse range of artforms.

From theatre, music, new media and dance to hybrid forms that defy classification, The Theatre Royal Backspace operates with a mission of sustaining a range of performance outcomes that combine to enrich Hobart as a place to live.

Conveniently located in Hobart’s CBD, The Theatre Royal Backspace is also the perfect venue for corporate events and media launches.

The Theatre Royal Backspace can seat up to 160 people and is licensed for up to 200 patrons.
